Week of 5/25-5/29
Last week of Specials for the year. Over the summer, I will leave all students logged into Code.org. If they have some days that they feel like working on coding, they will have this site still available to them.
Monday: Happy Memorial Day!
Tuesday: Code.org Lesson 12 Do parts 1-10
Wednesday: Code.org Lesson 12 Do parts 11-13
Thursday: Continue working on 2nd grade through 3rd grade science. 20 minutes. If you have completed all of this, a great activity would be to go to code.org and on their home page go to "an hour of code." To get to an hour of code, do not sign into your class. It is on the website's home page. Scroll down until you see the box "hour of code." Click it and it will take you to choices.
Friday: It's Friday!! Last STEM DAY I hope this one is a lot of fun for our last project. It is the egg drop. Please check with parents to make sure it is ok to do the experiment and to use eggs! The site I have sent you to, talks about protecting an egg from a drop at a certain height by using liquids in plastic bags. This is going to be fun to do, but I would also think about doing this experiment again using any kind of materials. Make a parachute, try sponges, try packing plastic bubble etc... Make a list of all the things you think would protect an egg from a drop. Remember to drop your egg from the same height each time when completing the experiment.
